Say what you want about Fallout New Vegas with its glitch problems it’s a hard game to not get addicted to. When it comes to post apocalyptic RPG/ shooter games, Fallout is the best out there. Like its predecessor Fallout 3, New Vegas has additional downloadable content to enhance the overall story and make the game more enjoyable…..well I can’t say that Honest Hearts made the game more enjoyable with its thick religious overtones that felt more preachy then back story.

Recently Obsidian released the trailer for Lonesome Road, the fourth and probably final chapter of Fallout New Vegas. Here the story of the courier who was shot in the head and left in a shallow grave comes full circle.

If you’re not familiar with the story behind Fallout New Vegas, here’s the short version. You play an unnamed character simply known as The Courier who was tasked to deliver an item called the Platinum Chip to Mr. House in New Vegas, the post apocalyptic version of Las Vegas. Before you can make good on your delivery your intercepted shot, and left for dead in a small town called Goodsprings. Your rescued and spend the rest of the game tracking down your would be killer all while all while deciding the fate of the Mojave wasteland.

Throughout the game and add on content there are references and hints talking about the original Courier 6, an individual known as Ulysses who turned down the platinum chip job and offers to explain everything. That is of course if you venture to a place called The Divide.

The Lonesome Road DLC was previously delayed; originally it was slated for release in July but because of technical issues was pushed back to August. Again it was pushed back until September 20, where it’s confirmed it will be available. And like Fallout New Vegas or other previous DLC’s it’ll be available on Steam where it’ll cost about $10, or if you use Microsoft, it’ll cost about 800 Microsoft points
