How To Get Indexed By Google FastIf you’re new to creating websites you’ve probably heard of Google’s sandbox even though Google denies that it exists. What this means is that a site will site for an unknown length of time waiting to get indexed. Traditionally this can take weeks or even months. Frankly who the hell wants to wait up to 6 months to get indexed by Google, that’s far too long.
So how do you get indexed by Google fast? Fortunately there are a few simple ways that do work, and don’t include you submitting your link to Google.
The first one is extremely simple; get a “share this” or “add this" button and place it on every page of your site you want users to have the ability to share. Looking online you’ll find dozens of different versions, styles and layouts, but they all have the same purpose to link your site to social book marking sites. They are also extremely simple to install simple copy and paste some code onto your sites pages and you’re good to go.
You want these for two reasons. The first is that links from social book marking sites tend to have high page rank (generally 5 or higher). Google bases it’s search listings and priority of indexing a site on the number of back links to your site, so if you have lots of back links from social book marking sites this makes your site look more popular which means your site will get indexed quickly and place higher for it’s keywords.
The second reason is that it allows others to share your site with others, they can book mark your pages on their profiles, tweet them, and email them to others. Of course the content has to be good enough for them to want to do this, but if it is your site or web page has the potential to go viral.
Once you’ve placed a share this link on the pages you want to share, open the share this button go to a social book marking site and book mark that page. If your button has a Twitter function (I think all of them do now) use the button to tweet your content to promote you're site. When it comes to tweeting most share this buttons will condense your URL giving you more space if needed to advertise your links.
Another thing you want to do is create an XML sitemap. This can be done for free at dozens of sitemap generator websites and takes only a few minutes to set up. Once that’s done create a Google Webmaster tools account, verify your site and submit your new sitemap to get indexed. Once your site map is added it usually only takes a few minutes to have your site map validated and have all your links queued to get indexed. However when you create the sitemap make sure you have good internal linking within your site before. Otherwise creating an XML sitemap and submitting it to Google Webmaster Tools won't do you any good.
Another method and one you should be doing all the time anyways, is to simply update your site as much as possible. This means adding new content, making changes to existing pages, adding links etc. Google loves sites that update a lot and on a regular basis and tends to visit them more often. Remember with every major change you make such as adding a new webpage to also ping your site. Pinging basically shouts out to the search bots that you have new content and that it needs to be crawled. Only ping your site when you have new content, extra pings are just a waste and can have a negative effect as your site could be considered a spam site and be banned.
There is no guarantee that your site will get indexed faster, but doing these simple methods give you a better chance.
