Google seo tools

When it comes to SEO optimization for your website or blog Google provides many free seo tools and resources. And while many will argue about different techniques at building traffic, using these Google SEO tools listed below will help you analyze your site, fix problems, and help get your website the traffic it deserves.

1. Google Analytics

In my opinion one of if not the first tool you should utilize is Google Analytics. This tool provides detailed information on all the unique hits your sites gets every day. It also breaks down what keywords were used, how long they were on your site for, how many page views, and where they came from. Google Analytics also provides a new in-page analytics option that provides even more detail.

2. Google Reader

Google Reader is a tool that can read both Atom and RSS feeds (both online and off) and allows users to share content with other users by automatically making items visible once there marked as shared. These items are then visible to all your contacts. In these sense it works almost like its own RSS feed, just on a larger scale.

3. Google Webmaster Tools

This Google SEO tool helps you identify bad links, malware, and any other issues that could be plaguing your website or blog such as your sites upload speed. It also provides you statistics on search queries and click through statistics. The only bad thing I have to say about this free SEO tool is that you have to validate your website before you can use it. This is done either through an HTML code, verification through Google Analytics or a few other options, and it can be a real pain when you follow the steps and they won’t verify your site.

4. Google Zeitgeist

Technically this isn’t so much a free SEO tool but rather a detailed analysis of the major keywords and search terms used by internet users around the world. Why you want to use this Google SEO tool is for keyword research.

5. Google Traffic Estimator

This tool is very similar to Google’s keyword tool if you’ve used it. It also works in pretty much the same fashion. What I like about it though is instead of typing in a keyword or keyword phrase and getting multiple variations for that keyword, you get the traffic stats just for the keyword or phrase you type in. It also displays the estimated average CPC. (Cost Per Click) The total estimated clicks, and the total estimated cost which is important to know if you want to use Google Adwords to pay for advertising.

For example if I was using Google SEO tools as my keyword the estimated CPC (this is in Canadian dollars by the way) would be between 1. 65 to 2.48 and a total estimated cost of between .11 to .39 cents if my daily budget was 10 dollars and my maximum CPC was set to 3 dollars a day.

6. Google Keyword Tool

As I mentioned above Google keyword tool and traffic estimator are almost identical. The big difference between the two is that Google keyword tool will display variations of the keyword phrase you type in. They also track the performance of those keywords, and which countries those keywords are searched in the most. (If you click the magnifying glass beside the keyword). As well as related search terms and if their becoming more popular.

7. Google Trends

This free SEO tools allows you to compare traffic for popular search terms and websites. Using this tool you can analyze a topic to see if it’s becoming more popular or not. This is handy when it comes to deciding what you want to write posts or articles on to maximize hits to your site.

8. Feed Burner

Feed burner is a free SEO tool that allows you to convert your pre existing RSS feed. Why do you want to do this? There are a few reasons, if you’re using a feed site such as Rapid feeds for example and you’re using their free service you can only create one feed. Your also limited in the number of options and can’t view your feeds stats. With Feed Burner you can display all your RSS feeds from your websites and blogs in one location. And while you may still have to use those other RSS sites to update your feeds content you’ll have detailed statistics of who has subscribed.

Feed burner also allows you to tie your feed to your Google ad sense account to monetize and track the number of hits.

9. Google Ad Planner

Also known as Double Click Ad Planner this Google SEO tool is very similar to Alexa. This site can be used to track popular sites or similar sites to your own to see what keywords their using.

10. Google Search Based Keyword Tool

This free SEO tool allows you to find the related keywords to a particular website or blog. The only limitation I’ve seen with this particular Google SEO tool is that it seems to only display keywords associated with Adwords accounts. So if you have a site or checking out a website to see what keywords their using the results might not be very accurate.

11. Google Insights For Search

This tool is similar to Google Trends but allows you to search up to 5 keywords at once. It also displays information on pretty much any keyword out there including those that aren’t that popular. My personal favourite with this site is that it allows you to take a closer look at the keywords traffic trends. You can analyze a particular keywords performance over years down to the last seven days.

12. Google Plus 1

This is a new tool that Google is bringing out. Essentially it’s another way to rate the popularity and relevance of a website or blog. But unlike other buttons such as Face book’s “Like” button or a Digg or Stumbleupon button, this new button will appear beside the link to your site when people are searching for sites on Google. This will also be added to all Google Adsense Ads as a means of monitoring what ads are socially relevant. To get plus one check out the video below

These are just a few Google SEO tools you can use that are free and will help you analyze your site, your competition and help increase your traffic. It’s important to remember that not all the information given on those sites is 100 percent accurate due to changing traffic trends, but it gives you a good idea and helps you get started.
