When Is The Best Time To Tweet If you’re trying to promote your website or blog one way to go about this is to use Twitter. In a very short time you can reach thousands of people quickly resulting in traffic back to your site. But just firing out tweets at random and hoping for the best isn’t enough if you’re serious about promoting your site. You need to know when to tweet, and that means knowing what the best times to tweet are.
Knowing what’s the best time to tweet means your posts have a better chance of being noticed by more people, potentially giving your site more traffic. To give you a basic idea of when to tweet, check out the chart below.
On this chart the best time to tweet is anywhere between 8 am (08:00) to 2 pm (14:00) with the biggest spike in tweets at 1 pm (13:00). Why so many more tweets at this time? This is when people are at work or school and not travelling back and forth.
Now this chart is fine if you live on the west coast of North America, and all your followers are local. The reality is though that if you’re an active twitter user your going to have followers in all different time zones and countries, so when is the best time to tweet in that situation?
The simplest way to find out when you should tweet is to go to WhenToTweet.com. This site analyzes the time when your followers are the most active on Twitter. All you need to do is enter your Twitter username and after a minute you’ll be shown a chart displaying the best time to tweet for you. For example when I tried this I was told the best time to tweet for me was at 17:15 or just after 5 pm my time. This is because many of my Twitter followers are located in the eastern United States and abroad.
